Motorists are asked to avoid that area and seek and alternative route to access the southbound lanes of Interstate 5 until it re-opens.

According to OSP Trooper James Ward, on October 24, 2011 at approximately 2:21 p.m. a commercial truck pulling a semi-trailer loaded with grass seed was negotiating the right curve on-ramp to Interstate 5 from westbound Mission Street near milepost 253 when the load shifted and the vehicles overturned.

The unidentified driver received a minor foot injury and was transported to Salem Hospital.

OSP is assisted at the scene by ODOT and Salem Fire Department.
