SALEM, Ore. – Wells Fargo has decided to add up to 200 more full-time customer service and sales positions to its call center at 355 Hawthorne Ave. SE in Salem. The company will start hiring in July and expects to continue it for six months.
Applicants can apply online at Wellsfargo.com/careers.
Compensation is based on experience – $11.86 to $12.89 per hour – and candidates are eligible to earn quarterly incentive pay based on performance.
The call center staff serves Wells Fargo consumer banking, credit card and home equity customers all over the nation. It opened in 2004 with 300 team members; it currently employs 600. When fully staffed, there will be up to 800 team members working at the facility.
“The high performance of our staff here in customer service, productivity and sales production, and the availability of so many skilled people in this region, are the key reasons for our hiring plans in Salem,” said Regional President Don Pearson.
The company is seeking team members with at least six months of previous customer service and sales experience, who are motivated to take care of customers’ concerns, and enjoy helping people understand their accounts, resolve issues and succeed financially. New hires will attend a six-week training program.
All the open positions come with a comprehensive benefits package, which includes medical, vision, and dental plans; 401(k) plan; paid time off; disability plans; life insurance options; tuition reimbursement; and many more benefits. The positions are for various shifts between 5 a.m. and 12 a.m., seven days a week. Candidates must be 18 years of age or older.
Job Fair Tomorrow
The call center will hold a job fair 4-7 p.m. on Wednesday, May 30. Team members will explain the open positions, discuss the training process and answer questions. No appointment is needed.
The call center can accommodate the additional staff without needing construction, Pearson said.
When completed, the hiring plan will increase Wells Fargo’s total team members in Marion County to more than 900, compared to about 200 before the call center became part of Wells Fargo in 2008 as part of the firm’s merger with Wachovia.
