Coast Guard hoists injured man from fishing vessel near Astoria

ASTORIA, Ore. — The Coast Guard hoisted a 50-tear-old man from a fishing vessel near Astoria Friday.

Coast Guard hoists injured man from fishing vessel near AstoriaThe crew of the 50-foot fishing vessel Juanaloa was 18 miles west of Astoria at approximately 5 a.m. when they contacted Coast Guard Sector Columbia River in Warrenton, Ore., and reported the man was suffering chest pains and needed evacuation from the boat.

An MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter crew was launched to the scene where they conducted the hoist and delivered the man to waiting emergency medical personnel at Sector Columbia River.
