Salem, OR – The Marion County Health Advisory Board (HAB) is looking for new members who are interested in improving our community’s health. We need members who understand the health concerns of various groups, including Latino, Russian and/or other cultural communities; and youth or young adults ages 17-24. We also need new members who can represent the communities of northern Marion County including Woodburn, Gervais or Hubbard; as well as persons currently working in Marion County in the fields of education, health care and/or dental care.
The Health Advisory Board provides advocacy and leadership for county health policy and planning. HAB members promote and review progress toward achieving important health outcomes in the community and advise and make recommendations to the Health Department Administrator and the Board of Commissioners. Members are appointed to four-year terms by the Board of Commissioners. There are also one-year terms for students wishing to gain some community experience. HAB meets monthly, except July and August, on the third Tuesday from 5:30-7:30 p.m.
