Fatal Pedestrian-Involved Traffic Crash – Highway 18 in Grand Ronde

Update: Names Released- The deceased pedestrian has been identified as Judi Gnade, age 57 from Grand Ronde

Oregon State Police (OSP) troopers are continuing the investigation into the death of an adult female pedestrian struck by a pickup Monday afternoon on Highway 18 in Grand Ronde. The pickup’s driver was uninjured and is fully cooperating with investigators at the scene. The victim and driver names will be released Tuesday.

fatal pedestrian crash near Grand RondePreliminary information from Lieutenant Eric Davenport indicates on December 10, 2012 at approximately 4:58 p.m., the victim pedestrian and a female companion were near Fort Hill Restaurant attempting to cross Highway 18 on foot from north to south when the victim was struck by an eastbound GMC pickup driven by an adult male. The female companion attempting to cross with the victim was not struck nor injured.

The 57-year old victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.

OSP troopers from the McMinnville Area Command office are continuing the investigation.

Polk County Sheriff’s Office, West Valley Fire District and ODOT are assisting at the scene. One lane is open for alternating traffic in both directions. Traffic updates at www.TripCheck.com.
