Fatal Traffic Crash – Highway 22W South Of Highway 18 in Polk County

Oregon State Police (OSP) troopers are continuing the investigation into Saturday evening’s three vehicle fatal traffic crash that resulted in the death of an adult male on Highway 22W south of Highway 18.

Preliminary information indicates on January 19, 2013 at approximately 7:00 p.m., two vehicles were involved in a head-on crash on Highway 22W near Red Prairie Road. Shortly after the first collision, a third vehicle collided with one of the involved vehicles.

An adult male was pronounced deceased at the scene. Three others, two females and one male, were injured and transported to area hospitals. All names of involved persons will be released Sunday.

OSP troopers from the McMinnville and Salem offices are investigating. The highway is blocked in both directions. Traffic updates posted on ODOT’s website TripCheck.com.

OSP is assisting by Police County Sheriff’s Office, Polk County Fire Rescue, Sheridan Fire District, West Valley Fire District, and ODOT.
