Serious Injury Truck Crash – Highway 58 West of Oakridge

A commercial truck driver was seriously injured Monday afternoon when his truck pulling two semi-trailers traveled off Highway 58 about two miles west of Oakridge and crashed into two trees. Oregon State Police (OSP) is continuing the investigation but the driver’s name is not available for this release.

a truck pulling two semi-trailersOn February 18, 2013 at approximately 2:45 p.m. a truck pulling two semi-trailers driven by an adult male was eastbound on Highway 58 near milepost 33 when, for an unknown reason, it traveled off the south side of the highway into a steep ditch and collided into a couple trees.

The driver was extricated from the truck by Oakridge Fire Department personnel and transported by LifeFlight to Sacred Heart Medical Center at RiverBend with serious injuries. His name and other information are not available.

OSP was also assisted at the scene by ODOT. Senior Trooper Erich Schermerhorn is the lead investigator.

The roadway was partially blocked for a couple hours.
