The City of Salem Public Works Department announces team registration for the 2013 Kickball League. Team representatives, coaches, or managers may pick up a Spring/Summer League Registration Packet at the City of Salem Public Works Department, 555 Liberty Street SE, Room 325, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. (open during the lunch hour) or go to www.softballcityusa.com to print off the team registration packet.

SPRINGFIELD, Ore., – In its 28(th) year of honoring the nation’s best high school athletes, The Gatorade Company, in collaboration with USA TODAY High School Sports, today announced Mercedes Russell of Springfield High School (Springfield, Ore.) as its 2012-13 Gatorade National Girls Basketball Player of the Year.  Russell was surprised with the news at school by WNBA champion and gold medalist Maya Moore, who earned the same distinction in 2007.

It is the second year in a row that Malley has earned Honorable Mention All-NWC recognition.

Mount Hood Ski Patrol is looking for recreation enthusiasts with a heart for volunteer work at our annual tryouts next month. We are searching for skiers and snowboarders of all skill levels who would like to join our 300+ volunteers in our dedication to providing quality rescue and emergency services on Mt. Hood starting the 2013-2014 season.
