One person is in custody following a crash off Interstate 5 on an off ramp about fourteen miles north of Eugene after attempting to elude Oregon State Police (OSP) from south Salem. Emergency responders are on scene evaluating for any possible injuries.

Two commercial truck drivers were cited by Oregon State Police after being involved in a minor injury traffic crash along Interstate 84 in the Pendleton area. The crash is a reminder that distracted driving can be dangerous when drivers divert their attention to focus on something else, which in this case was a cell phone.

At the request of Oregon State Police (OSP), the Lane County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) is starting an investigation into the death of an adult male who fatally shot himself Sunday afternoon after being stopped by OSP on Highway 126W about five miles west of Veneta. The names of the involved deceased male and the OSP officer are withheld and may be released Monday after next of kin notifications are confirmed and release is authorized by LCSO.

Oregon State Police (OSP) is continuing the investigation into last Friday morning’s three vehicle fatal traffic crash that occurred on Highway 22W just west of the intersection with Highway 51 west of Salem. OSP is seeking any other witnesses to the crash who have not spoken to an investigator, including any witnesses to driving by any of the involved vehicles prior to the crash. Today at 8:54 a.m., Washington County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a two vehicle head-on crash at SW Farmington Road and Highway 219. The first deputy on scene observed one driver running from the scene and determined the other driver was deceased, there were no passengers.
