An Oregon State Police (OSP) traffic stop Thursday afternoon led to the arrest of a Hillsboro, Oregon man and the seizure of approximately 55 pounds of high-grade heroin on Interstate 5 north of Ashland. The OSP Drug Enforcement Section (DES) is continuing the investigation. DES detectives think this is the largest heroin seizure by OSP in recent memory in the southern Oregon area.

Tour de Cure Raises Nearly $400,000 for the American Diabetes Association

Red Riders start the Ride. Red Riders are those who have diabetes. The American Diabetes Association recognizes them with a Red Rider Jersey.

PORTLAND, Ore. – More than 1,100 cyclists took to the streets of Washington County this morning and participated in the 21st Annual Tour de Cure cycling event raising nearly $400,000 for diabetes education, research and advocacy. Tour de Cure is an event organized by the American Diabetes Association and started at Hillsboro Stadium in Hillsboro, Ore.

Hillsboro, Oregon – Washington County Sheriff’s Office detectives are seeking the public’s help in locating 13-year-old Dalia Mauro-Contreras. She was last seen on the morning of Monday, November 28, when she left for Brown Middle School in Hillsboro, where she is in the eighth grade.

Man Arrested for Rape Near Forest Grove

Hillsboro,Oregon - This Morning at 4:51 am, Washington County Deputies responded to unwanted person call on Highway 47, just north of Forest Grove. Upon arrival the victim’s father told deputies he found a man, later identified as 21-year-old Jacob Bryant of Everett Washington in his daughter’s bedroom. When the father discovered Mr. Bryant, he fled the scene. He also told deputies, that Jacob Bryant raped his daughter.

Man Stuck on Cliff Found by Washington County Deputies after 911 Call

32-year-old Jason Henry called 911 from his cell phone to report that he was stuck on the side of a cliff and was hanging onto a rotten stump that was about to give way. He said the drop below him was 80-100 feet and he wasn’t sure how long the stump was going to hold.

Sheriff’s deputies started to respond to the steep wooded area in the northwest corner of Washington County, near NW Bacona Road and NW Sherman Mill Rd. They did not have an exact location for the Mr. Herman because he had left his pickup at one of the closed forest gates and hiked in while bow hunting. He was following a deer trail when he slipped and slid down a very steep embankment. He was able to catch a stump before falling off a vertical cliff. He slid about 150 feet down the embankment before stopping and was not able to climb back up.
